Lately I have had an aversion to buying gifts for people. I used to love it. Now, it seems, I am just unhappy with adding more crap to the world that doesn't need to be there. A gift, to me, is the ultimate example of crap we don't need, because it's something we didn't ask for in the first place.
So if you want to get me a gift, buy me one of these nifty bikes.
If you're feeling generous, I think I'd really like a plug-in hybrid electric car (http://www.calcars.org/vehicles.html) or a vacuum cleaner that will rid me of all this incessant car hair. Otherwise, just buy me a drink or tell me that I'm a good person (and make it convincing). I will reciprocate in the future.
